BOSTON 25 – Local chefs making pies to help raise money for nonprofit

Hundreds of local chefs and bakers are coming together to bake thousands of pies — all to benefit a local nonprofit that feeds people in need. It’s a massive undertaking that takes a small army of volunteers. They’re making and selling 25,000 pies ahead of Thanksgiving, so if you need a hand in the kitchen, it’s a win-win! The fundraiser Pie in the Sky raises money for the group Community Servings.

Now in its 27th year, Community Servings’ annual Pie in the Sky fundraiser sells pumpkin, apple, sweet potato, and pecan pies from more than 100 restaurants, bakeries, and caterers in the Greater Boston area, including local all-stars like Branch Line, Craigie on Main, Flour, and Mamaleh’s.
