We’re now accepting applications for Community Servings’ Teaching Kitchen program, a 12-week job-training program for people who face barriers to full-time employment and are interested in careers in the food service industry. Applications are due by Thursday, January 16, 2020.

18 years of age or older
Authorized to work in the United States
Proficient in English
Committed to working a minimum of 20 hours per week upon completion of program
Successfully complete TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education)
A GED or high school diploma is not required to be eligible for our program, however, all applicants must come in to take the reading and math portions of the TABE. Once a completed application is received the Job Readiness & Employment Manager will reach out to the applicant to schedule a time to take the test. The test is administered once a week throughout the enrollment period and lasts for approximately 1.5 hours.
Interview
If an applicant scores sufficiently on the TABE, they will be scheduled for an interview with the Job Readiness and Employment Manager. Applicants may be requested to return for a second interview.
The Teaching Kitchen considers only applicants who complete all three steps of the application process. Of these eligible applicants, the program accepts 12 students for each 12-week session. Those accepted with receive a phone call notifying them of their acceptance, at least 7-10 days prior to the start of the session. Acceptance decisions will be made on a rolling basis.
