A Father's Story

By supporting Community Servings through Dinners4Dads, you are positively impacting the lives of local fathers struggling with critical or chronic illnesses. Fathers like Chuck, who moved from Indian Country, OK, to Massachusetts 40 years ago.

A proud member of the Choctaw Nation and a dedicated husband and father to two grown daughters, Chuck has seen illnesses like diabetes ravage his tribe and family. Even his younger brothers have passed earlier than they should have.

Chuck, too, has diabetes and debilitating vascular issues requiring angioplasty to increase blood and oxygen flow to his leg. He has two stents, and he recently suffered from a diabetic ulcer in his foot which left him nearly immobile and facing an almost certain foot amputation.

But Chuck also has a strong desire to live—for his family and his Nation. His strong will and your support are why he and countless others with critical or chronic illnesses find hope in Community Servings.

Chuck recently told our team, “I am determined to get well for my daughters. My family is everything. I need to be the healthiest, best version of myself for them. Community Servings has helped me do just that.”
