The Community Servings Holiday Gift Basket Program brings warm clothes, basic necessities, and holiday treats to our clients and their families. Join Community Servings and over 400 volunteers who make the Holiday Gift Basket Program possible.
Over 95% of our clients live at or below the poverty line, and much of their limited income is needed to cover healthcare and prescription costs. There is little left for basic necessities such as toiletries, cleaning products and clothing. But that is where you can help. We are looking for over 100 Basket Makers for our Holiday Gift Basket Program!
The Holiday Gift Basket Program brings warm clothes, basic necessities, and holiday treats to our clients with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Our clients call us with their holiday wishes, and we match those lists with volunteer Basket Makers willing to shop for the gifts. Typically, wish lists contain requests for basic necessities like warm clothing and toiletries.
The impact of the Holiday Basket Program is incredibly uplifting for our clients. One of our clients living with breast cancer shared with us last year that:
The gift baskets showed care, love, and were often things - like blankets - and quilts that I hadn't even been able to purchase for myself. These treasures brought me to tears, and my illness was long enough to allow me to receive baskets two years in a row.
Please join us in brightening the holidays of the critically ill. Completed baskets need to be dropped off December 10th -13th. If interested in being a Basket Maker for the Holiday Gift Basket Program, please contact Ashley Boyd at (617)522-7777 or email at aboyd@servings.org.
There are many ways to get involved!
