The Smith Family Foundation has been one of Community Servings' most generous funders, awarding the agency a five-year, $1 million capacity building grant in 2007. In addition to this generous funding, the foundation recently awarded Community Servings an additional $100,000 grant to support our job-training program, which trains individuals interested in careers in the food service industry who are currently unemployed or facing barriers to full-time employment. The Yawkey Foundation has supported Community Servings meals and nutrition program for a number of years. This year the board generously elected to donate an additional grant of $25,000, which in turn will enable us to prepare and deliver 10,000 meals for our clients that are too sick to shop or cook for themselves or their children. On behalf of our clients and staff, we cannot say how much the support means to us!
