Director of Annual Fund

The Director of Annual Fund works closely with the VP D & C, the Development & Communications Manager, Development Coordinator, CEO and volunteer leadership. The position is responsible for managing all aspects of the annual campaign, with a primary focus on increasing leadership individual gifts of $1,200 and above. The Annual Fund Manager directs planned giving efforts and stewards The Bernie Smith Society.

Delivery Driver - Part Time Position

Community Servings, Inc. is Greater Bostons free, home-delivered meals program for those who are homebound with a critical illness, serving 2000 meals per day to 600 clients and their families in 14 communities.

Position Summary:

The Delivery Drivers primary responsibility is the loading and delivery of prepared meals and related food to Community Servings clients at their home by driving a delivery van and carrying the food up the stairs (as much as four flights) or via elevator. In addition, the Delivery Driver assists with hands-on food packaging assembly.

Due to our expansion to Worcester we have a full-time position available Tuesday through Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM which is subject to change. Part-time position may also be available.

Job Readiness & Employment Manager

Position Summary:

Community Servings - Eastern Massachusetts' free, food and nutrition program for the critically ill - seeks a Full-Time Job Readiness & Employment Manager for its Teaching Kitchen Program. Reporting to the VP of Programs, this position will support and monitor job training program participants and work closely with the Chef Instructor, Executive Chef, and Vice President of Programs to help trainees overcome barriers to employment.

Program Description:

The Teaching Kitchen Program is a free 12 week full-time food service training program for low-income individuals, displaced workers and individuals who have faced barriers. Trainees receive a combination of classroom time, cooking classes, job skills training and job seeking and placement assistance. The trainees also get experience in an active kitchen by helping prepare home delivered meals for the critically ill and their families.

Outreach Coordinator

The Outreach Coordinator participates in the development and implementation of a major outreach campaign focusing primarily on underserved and hard to reach populations, in need of our services. The Outreach Coordinator works closely with all Program Staff in ensuring a smooth transition from applicant to client.

Communications Internship

The Communications intern will gain insight into the inner workings of a successful communications team. Collaborating with seasoned professionals, board members, volunteers and public relations consultants, s/he will provide assistance with marketing, communications and public relations.

Fall Special Events Internship

The Special Events intern will gain insight into the inner workings of a successful development team. Collaborating with seasoned professionals, Board members, high-level donors and volunteers, and an extensive network of resources within the Greater Boston area, s/he will provide assistance in all aspects of development and events work, including donor relations, proposal development, and LifeSavor - Community Servings' renowned spring gala that raised $525,000 last year.
